The DJI Zenmuse L3 is a next-generation, enterprise-grade aerial LiDAR and photogrammetry payload designed exclusively for the DJI Matrice 400 series. It combines a powerful LiDAR core with high-resolution RGB mapping capabilities to deliver survey-grade accuracy for large-scale geospatial applications:
- Long-Range Detection: Features a 1535 nm eye-safe laser wavelength with a detection range of up to 950 meters at 10% reflectivity (at 100 kHz), more than double the range of the Zenmuse L2.
- High Point Density & Returns: Supports up to 16 returns per pulse, allowing for superior canopy penetration through dense vegetation.
- Dual 100 MP Mapping Cameras: Equipped with dual Micro Four Thirds (M4/3) 100 MP RGB CMOS sensors featuring a wide 107° horizontal combined FOV for crisp, true-color photogrammetry.
- Survey-Grade Accuracy: Delivers a vertical accuracy of 3 cm (RMSE) and horizontal accuracy of 4 cm (RMSE) when flown at an altitude of 120 meters.
- High Efficiency: Capable of covering up to 100 km² per day due to its extended range and higher mapping speeds of 15–25 m/s.
- Thinner Point Cloud: Produces cleaner point clouds with a thickness of only ~1.2 cm at 120 m, significantly reducing post-processing and noise cleanup.
- Rugged Design: Features an IP54 environmental protection rating, making it robust for field operations in challenging conditions (operating from -20°C to 50°C).
- Ecosystem Integration: Seamlessly integrates with the DJI enterprise ecosystem via DJI Pilot 2, DJI Terra, DJI Modify, and DJI FlightHub 2.
