NSW, Commercial property (e.g. factory) - Video / photos for real estate
A local commercial real estate client required a fast-turnaround aerial photography job for a commercial property located at Larkin St, Camperdown NSW. The brief was straightforward but technically specific:
Approximately 12 high-resolution still images
Combination of:
close-up building angles
direct overhead shots
wide locality shots showing nearby shops and Sydney CBD
RAW image delivery preferred
No editing required
1-day turnaround while weather conditions were favourable
The property was located within restricted low-ceiling airspace near the Sydney CBD, making the project particularly suited to a compact sub-250g DJI Mini 4K drone.
Before the flight, I carried out detailed site planning using Google Earth and local airspace tools.
Instead of simply turning up and improvising, I created annotated planning screenshots for the client showing:
proposed shooting positions
building orientations
expected skyline visibility
nearby apartment obstructions
likely limitations on direct city-facing angles
alternative offset angles to preserve full building boundaries
This allowed the client to review and approve intended compositions before the flight took place.
The client specifically requested:
horizon shots with skyline visibility
no cropped building boundaries
direct overhead imagery
wide locality shots with the subject building clearly visible in the foreground
Because nearby apartments partially obstructed certain angles, I proposed multiple alternatives and discussed the visual trade-offs in advance.
The flight was completed the following morning during clear weather conditions.
Shooting settings included:
4:3 aspect ratio
JPEG + RAW capture
AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing)
manual white balance adjustments where required
exposure compensation adjustments depending on sky brightness
The compact Mini 4K platform allowed safe operation within the site's restricted airspace limitations while still capturing clean, high-resolution commercial imagery.
A variety of image types were delivered including:
low-angle close-up shots
elevated horizon compositions
direct overhead orthographic views
contextual locality images showing surrounding commercial areas and skyline positioning
Images were uploaded via Google Drive for convenient client access shortly after the flight.
The client received:
fast communication
detailed planning annotations
quick turnaround
easy digital delivery
affordable pricing
simple payment process
The project was completed successfully within 24 hours of initial contact, demonstrating how smaller-scale drone operators can provide efficient and practical commercial real estate photography without the complexity or pricing of larger production companies.

DJI T100 Clear for Takeoff
CASA has approved the T100 for operation in Australia under the Medium category, just like the T50 and other spray drones. The liquid tank holds up to 100 L and the spreader handles 100 kg. There are no built-in take-off limits or system restrictions in the drone or software. You’ll only see a brief notice on the remote screen if you exceed the MTOW, which disappears automatically. To stay within CASA’s operating guidelines, keep total load to 75 L or kg.
