A Schofields homeowner contacted me following a major storm, reporting a worsening water stain in
his daughters’ bedroom. Unable to safely access the roof himself, he needed close-up aerial footage
to accurately identify the source of the leak before committing to any repair work.
The brief was specific:
> Close-up video of gutters and drainage channels within a confined area
> High-definition images of solar panels
> Windowsill and flashing inspection for cracking or debris ingress
> Contextual and street images for keepsake, print, and future sale purposes
Results
The inspection identified several findings the homeowner was not previously aware of:
Gutter obstruction – a plant had established itself in accumulated debris inside the gutter channel,
creating a dam that was directing water toward the roofline and into the wall cavity – this was
identified as the most likely source of the bedroom stain
Windowsill bird droppings – a significant accumulation was identified as the probable source of a
previously unexplained odour inside the master bedroom
Solar panels – were confirmed clean and undamaged; the client was able to decline a cleaning
service recently recommended by a tradesperson, having now seen the panels clearly himself
Contextual overviews – wide locality and property shots were captured opportunistically for free,
providing the homeowner with a complete aerial record of the property for personal records,
insurance, and future sale

DJI T100 Clear for Takeoff
CASA has approved the T100 for operation in Australia under the Medium category, just like the T50 and other spray drones. The liquid tank holds up to 100 L and the spreader handles 100 kg. There are no built-in take-off limits or system restrictions in the drone or software. You’ll only see a brief notice on the remote screen if you exceed the MTOW, which disappears automatically. To stay within CASA’s operating guidelines, keep total load to 75 L or kg.
