Emily Engagement Yacht Party

Emily engaged One Two Shoot Media to get some video of her engagement party onboard the new YOT Club charter boat named YOT 75. It's a 75ft yacht licensed to carry 70 guests, featuring 2 decks, 2 bars, and 4 entertainment areas onboard. No wonder she was wanting to get some footage of her party! From our side of things with drones and boats, there were two options. 1 take off and land on the moving boat or 2 coordinate with the Captain of Vessal and take off from land and fly out to the boat on the water. We opted for option 2 as it was much safer to conduct drone operations on land that section of the entire bow of the boat for us to safely take off and land from, preventing possible damage to the drone or boat. But more importantly no risk of hurting the crew or guests. We were originally planning to fly our Phantom 4 Pro V2 as all day there had been wind gusts up to 20-30 knots. However, as Murphy's law happened upon setting the Phantom up for a flight and doing a pre-flight checklist we got three major errors that ultimately prevented the aircraft from taking off. Our Chief Remote Pilot Steven had to make a very quick decision in packing up the drone, physically reposition himself further north to where the boat was traveling and get out the backup drone a DJI Mavic Air 2S. To then produce the videos and photos that the clients absolutely loved. All in all this job was a great afternoon job and thankfully we always have a contingency plan!
