Caydon Development

Caydon is a property development company based in Melbourne that specialise in large scale developments including; contemporary apartments, hotels and retail spaces. Phoenix was commissioned through a production company, Latitude Group, to produce aerial photography and video of 'The Rise' apartment complex in Moonee Ponds. There were a number of challenges that needed to be considered: The apartment block is located close to an airport (within controlled airspace), which imposed complex restrictions on aerial activity. The apartment block is located adjacent to Moonee Ponds Central (shopping centre) and therefore had restrictions imposed by CASA relating to flying over populous areas. Project Solution As Phoenix Aerial imaging holds a CASA certified operator of an RPA (remotely piloted aircraft), we were able to secure an exemption to fly within controlled airspace. Phoenix also negotiated with the shopping centre operator to secure permissions to fly over the footprint of the centre. The area was cordoned-off and the appropriate traffic management measures were put in place. The client required high-quality images which was made possibly using a specialist drone from Phoenix’s fleet. The execution of the brief was successfully completed with the delivery of exceptional images and video. The content produced was used in real estate marketing materials to assist in the pre-sale of apartments.
