Founded in April 2013, and headquartered in the IT hub of Gold Coast in South East Queensland, Smart Infrastructure Asset Management Australia Research and Development Pty Ltd (SIAMA) is a progressive R&D company whose mission it is to revolutionise asset inspection, condition and maintenance reporting activities throughout Australia and around the world.

SIAMA was founded by Dr Jaeho Lee and Professor Yew-Chaye Loo AM. With their mutual interests in structural engineering, asset management, imaging technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the pair set out to develop the technology required to deliver a fully integrated infrastructure asset management solution.

The result, SIAMA’s Bridge Management System (BMS), incorporates detailed automated physical inspection and detection of defects, data modelling and condition reporting for a variety of structures including bridges and culverts.

Utilising purpose designed and built remote UAV’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and UGV’s (Unmanned Ground Vehicles) for inspection and data collection, together with a world-leading proprietary software package for data analysis and reporting, the SIAMA BMS is achieving results which many thought, until now, not possible.
