WA, Mining - Digital terrain/elevation/surface models
Using UAVs for 3D modelling isn't new, but traditional methods using fixed-wing UAVs have always struggled with steep terrain like pit walls - because of the angle of the camera the spatial and visual details often end up smeared down the slope making the data useless for survey and mapping.
CADS Aerial have been testing some of the latest software to turn our multirotors into mapping tools, enabling us to use cameras pointing in any direction, even up, to get the details you need.
Check out the results in the video below, and get in touch if you'd like to discus how we can apply this technology to your mapping and modelling needs, whether it's mining, landfill, heritage, architecture or gaming.
