Ascent Droning was established in 2017 after identifying the need for farmers in Far North Queensland to have access to more accurate dam water storage data. The first drone we purchased was a Phantom 4 which was used to obtain digital elevation models of small farm dams using photogrammetry. The models were used to provide farmers with stage-storage curves (water storage vs water level graphs) which they could use to make informed decisions regarding their water usage and water security. Since founding the company we have gained substantial experience in photogrammetry mapping, being involved in mapping:
- Quarry pits
- Compost facilities
- Large water storage dams
- Large areas of agricultural land
- Proposed dam sites
- Commercial building sites
- River cross sections to assist in a dam failure impact study
- Tree plantations

- Geospatial imagery analysis

We offer photogrammtery image processing to clients that would like to capture images with their own drone but don't have access to photogrammtery software. This service includes advice on the best method to capture images for a particular purpose, i.e. 2D or 3D model.
