A popular setup for the spray drone operation was using a single phase genset with the C8000. However, the recent combo of the 16KVAHonda motor generator with C10000 charger is definitely an upgrade to be considered.

3-Phase Design

The 16KVA is a three-phase generator, which means that it supplies three channels of power.The C10000 has to connect the power supply to a 3-phase five-wire industrial power supply, however, it technically only draws from 2 phases of the generator.

Therefore, the third phase is free out for you to connect to other applications. For example, you can power other equipment like a batch master pump, or your laptop, from the 15A power socket on the genset.

Faster charging

For the C8000 charger, battery went from 29% to 100% in 11.5 minutes, while it only takes 9 minutes 50 seconds for the C10,000 charger.

The T50 batteries can each charge 1 minute 40 seconds faster per battery, which is approximately 20% reduced in time! With a full day of spraying (let’s say 6-8 hours of operation, you are charging 6.5 batteries an hour), you can save about 1-1.5 extra hours of operation per day. 

Lower total cost of ownership - TCO

The Honda motor  should last for 10+ years if well maintained and treated. Whereas cheaper gensets have lower quality motors that may last 3-5 years. 

The operations time gained, which is an estimated $250 per day (1 hr) of extra billable work time. 

This setup adds up to a lower total cost of ownership over the long run.

Compact and powerful

Being more powerful doesn’t mean huge and heavy like a diesel. The 16KVA generator is really compact (77cm x 53cm x 90cm) and light (155kg) for its output when compared to traditional diesel gensets (they can go up to 900kg+).

This saves you a lot of room on the truck and trailer. With extra room and spare weight capacity, you can fit the drone, IBC, Batch Master, batteries, and other items.
